How I Destress Before The Day Begins

Life can be stressful at times or all the time for some of us and where’s the escape?  What I want to do all day and what I have to do all day are two very different things!  I manage the stress and pressure of everyday life by taking time at the beginning and end of every day with something just for me.  And to be honest, it’s the little things that I find the most comforting.  It’s my coffee or tea in the morning and writing on my blog and engaging with people on social media at night.  When I was asked by TAZO® to share my thoughts on their new TAZO® Chai Latte K-Cup® pods, I didn’t hesitate!  There will never be a day in my home that my Keurig® doesn’t deliver at least two hot cups of daily joy!

So, I’ve heard the term Chai Latte before but I’ve never had a Chai Latte or Chai tea.  What exactly is it anyhow?  I checked that out and it’s actually quite interesting.  Chai is a black tea blend that is both sweet and spicy.  Chai is the word for tea in many parts of the world but Chai from India is typically a blend of milk, rich black tea, a sweetener, and soothing spices.  The spices are intended to make you feel warm with an increased sense of well being.  It is a drink that is deeply rooted in Indian culture and history.  The new TAZO® Chai Latte K-Cup® brings the ancient exotic tea to the modern Keurig®.  The new K-Cup® pods are a blend of black tea, cinnamon, ginger, cardamom, star anise, black pepper, and vanilla flavor.  Ahhhh, beautiful right?  Yes!

The TAZO® Chai Latte K-Cup® pods definitely delivered!  I thought no way could this measure up to my morning coffee but it totally did!  I was not expecting such a rich and exotic drink.  And the ginger!  I love ginger and the combination of the honey cream with the cinnamon.  The tea is like a warm fuzzy blanket on a cold day.  It’s comforting and that’s exactly what I want to start my day.  Also, spices such as cloves, cinnamon, and cardamom are natural antioxidants so there are added health benefits you may not have even thought of.  I love cinnamon so I added a little extra on top!

I really enjoy my morning beauty routine.  I always have part of my morning cup of coffee or tea on the patio while my dog has his breakfast, in his barbaric way.  You can see him below!  I pretend he’s well mannered.  He always finishes before me (shocker) and then we go inside.  He flops back down on his bed and I proceed with my morning routine.  I wash my face and do my makeup which lets me be creative and further destress and I finish my morning cup of hot joy.  TAZO® won my heart with the new TAZO® Chai Latte K-Cup® pods!  I give them a big a thumbs up for making my mornings healthier and better!

    1. LOL, yes he is huge but a big baby. After all these years, I’m pretty accustomed to his disgusting habits. He inhales his food in the morning and then I just take him back inside. Can’t leave him outside or he run around and bark at the windows of whatever room you are in. Dogs are smart sometimes! He’s in control!

  1. Hi Janine! Thank you for sharing. I didn’t know they had these k-cups. So cool. In your photo, what are you having with the tea? It looks interesting. P.S. Cute nails

  2. Great post!! I had no idea they sold chai tea cups for the Keurig! I’m already a big fan of the Chai tea lattes at starbucks, but am super stoked to make it at home!!
