Instantly Smooth Skin and Fine Lines with SkinMedica HA5

HA5 Rejuvenating Hydrator Skin Care

This product is offering more than surface moisture that evaporates after a few hours.  Skin Medica is a brand I’ve always trusted.  They manufacture clinical skin care products for when you want to get serious about what you are using on your skin.  This line is not available in drug stores or department stores.  It can be purchased at medical spas and physician offices.  It’s a step above what we see every day on the shelves.  I’ve turned to this brand for years and if you aren’t familiar with SkinMedica, it’s time for an introduction.  They just released HA5 Rejuvenating Hydrator and it’s the only product of it’s kind on U.S. the market.  I’m serious when I say, this one is a game changer.

Early this year, SkinMedica released the HA5 Rejuvenating Hydrator.  Currently, there is nothing else on the market that can do what this product does and I doubt there will be.  Why?  Because SkinMedica has patented one of the extraordinary forms of hyaluronic acid that sets this product apart from the rest   This doesn’t surprise me coming from SkinMedica.  They have always been innovators.  Now, SkinMedica is part of the Allergan family of companies so expect to see more  extraordinary products coming out of their laboratories.  For example, Kybella came from Allergan and look what that product did for me! (I finally posted my before photos – no judging please)

I’ve discussed the benefits of hyaluronic acid (HA) in prior posts.  It’s a substance produced within our body to maintain hydration.  As we age, our body produces less HA. Many skin care products incorporate HA because of it’s remarkable ability to retain water.  The only challenge is, the HA molecules in most products are too large to be absorbed by our skin. This results in benefits that are superficial and short lived.  Nonetheless, it’s a wonderful hydrator and products with HA soften the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.  So how is HA5 Rejuvenating Hydrator different?  I’m glad you want to know because I’m super excited to share the details with you!

This new serum will instantly smooth fine lines and wrinkles.  No, not permanently (I wish) but it will soften them and the effect will last through the entire day.  With regular and continued use, the effects that the product has in diminishing the appearance of fine lines will be sustained.  HA5 Rejuvenating Hydrator will also prevent the degradation of HA within your body.  HA5 restores the skin’s natural ability to produce HA on it’s own which increases hydration and overall skin health and beauty.  HA5 Rejuvenating Hydrator is made up of five forms of hyaluronic acid and is formulated to provide instant skin smoothing benefits for up to eight hours.   Stop and think what that can do for your under eye area!

The proprietary technology is VitisenSCE which is an antioxidant blend that harnesses stem cell extracts found in the Vitis Flower.  The blend also includes a peptide complex to support skin rejuvenation and hydration.   Plus Polysaccharides and Plankton to enable the skin to produce it’s own HA for long term skin health.  That’s quite a line up and now you can see why it’s a game changer.  This product is offering more than surface moisture that evaporates after a few hours.  It is also suitable for all skin types.

The beautiful smoothing effect under my eyes achieved with this product is something I have chased for years.  I have tried so many creams and natural remedies, it’s absurd.  This product genuinely improves the look of my skin and under eye area.  It’s always going to be in my cabinet now.  HA5 Rejuvenating Hydrator is not a liquid serum.  It’s more of a light gel in my opinion but it doesn’t feel creamy, sticky, or greasy on the skin.  It’s just instantly absorbed with no residue.

Going on the skin, this product feels like satin and it’s completely weightless.  Everything seems to firm up as the HA begins to plump the skin.  The results are beautiful and I’ve never found anything I like as much as this hydrator.  Keep in mind, this is a hydrator not a moisturizer.  There is a difference and when you visit SkinMedica’s site, take a look at the information out there intended to educate consumers.  After applying the HA5 Rejuvenating Hydrator, you can apply a moisturizer if you would like to achieve that soft silky skin feeling that a moisturizer can offer.  SkinMedica makes some amazing moisturizers as well.  I’d highly recommend  the Replenishing Moisturizing Cream which is great for sensitive skin.

I’ve used a lot of SkinMedica’s products over the years and I will tell you that this an extraordinary line.  I just finished up a jar of the TNS Medica Eye Cream.  The cost of the products is slightly higher than what you may pay for highly rated products in retail stores but prices are reasonable considering the quality and speciality products you are getting.  Would I sacrifice 2 or 3 lower end products for one SkinMedica product?  Absolutely!  Once you’ve come to a line like this one, you are in a completely different league and the higher cost is justified.

  1. I’ve been using skin medica’s pigment correcting serum for almost a year now and find that the results are negligible especially when the purchase price is so high, I’m now looking into Epionce MelanoLyte Pigment Perfecting Serum because frankly it’s more affordable considering the expectations. Have you used the latter or are you going to use and review? I’d also like to hear from others who have used the Epionce Pigment Perfecting Serum. I do have to say that I love Epionce’s Intensive Nourishing cream in the winter. Thanks!

    1. Have you been using Lytera? I have Lytera 2.0 but I don’t get great results from it. I have not looked at the Epionce serum but have heard good things about Epionce. I have found that the products containing 4% hydroquinone (if you are open to using that, such as Obagi Blender or Clear) are phenomenal with addressing pigment. But when you stop, the pigment comes back slowly over time. Then you have to start it again. I have also found IPL facial (photo facials) really help pigmentation and are not overly expensive considering the immediate result (within a week) and it’s long lasting.

    1. With skin care and layering products, the rule of thumb is to apply products based on their viscosity. Those with less viscosity would get applied first. With Retin-A (or any form of it) that would be used in the PM only. So, in the AM, you would apply a serum if you use a C-serum or anything like that, followed by HA5, and then your eye cream. If you use a moisturizer, apply that last. And sunscreen would always be the last layer whether it’s thick or thin (that’s one exception to the rule). In the PM, I’ve been advised to apply Retin-A first, wait about 20-30 minutes, and then apply HA5, eye cream, moisturizer. Waiting after applying Retin-A is sometimes said not to be needed but I wait as it can improve results. I hope this helps? Let me know! =)

  2. If I’m wanting HA in my serum i.e.- wash/tone/serum (using HA5) what ingredients am I wanting in my moisturer for night?
I’m new to anti aging skin care regimen and need help understanding how to properly layer, I also use Retin A at night. Thanks!

    1. HA5 is great and Retin-A is the best for anti-aging. Also, look into Vitamin C serum for the morning. SkinCeuticals is the best out there and most effective. For the night, your Retin-A is an intense treatment for anti-aging. The HA5 is a superb moisturizer. You could add an eye serum (IS Clinicals makes a very good one, so does SkinCeuticals) and facials oils are also wonderful and help keep the skin hydrated which can be depleted by the Retin-A. There are many wonderful oils. I use Colleen Rothschild No 9 and also Pure Argan Oil that I order from a Co-Op in Morocco. When you layer, you want to go from think to thick. So… Toner or essence, serum, oil, moisturizer. But use the Retin-A first on clean and dry skin. Some people say to give it 20 minutes or so to absorb but I think that’s opinions. You will also find some like to apply the oil after the moisturizer but I do it in that order I listed.

For cream moisturizers, take a look at my review on the Korres product, it’s an excellent line. I have always been impressed with LA Mer for moisturizers but they are pricey.

  3. I have my dry skin and I’m looking for the best product to improve this matter. When I read your post, I’m happy and want to try it, but I’m little worry about that this product is suitable or not for me
