Real Neat Blog Award

I am so gitty right now because Assia, author of “The A Blog” nominated me for the Real Neat Blog Award.  There’s nothing more rewarding when you start blogging for someone to notice and recognize you.  Thank you so much to the beautiful Assia who might be in England or Italy today and soon Spain.  Doesn’t that sound like heaven?  It does for me sitting in Phoenix, AZ!

So, I recently learned that if I just link to a Blog, a link back won’t appear (Gasp!) but if you link to an article on the blog, the link back appears (A ha!).  So, I’ve linked into her award post and I hope that works properly!  Oh and by the way, I came straight home from work because I wanted to work on this post!  My other option was to go back to Nordstrom’s and get the items I forgot to buy when I was at the MAC counter yesterday.  Mmmm hmmm, I told you I was gitty about this because I don’t think anything else could have stood between MAC and I!

Here are the guidelines for this award:

  1. Put the award logo on your blog.
  2. Answer 7 questions asked by the person who nominated you.
  3. Thank the person who nominated you, linking to their blog.
  4. Nominate any number of bloggers you like, linking to their blogs.
  5. Let them know you nominated them (by commenting on their blog etc.)

Here are my responses to Assia’s questions:

1 What country or city would you travel to tomorrow?

I’d like to get on a plane tomorrow and be in Barcelona by the morning!

2 What’s your favourite book?

I don’t really have a favorite book.  I am not a person who reads books.  I wish I was but I’m not a book worm.  I read a lot but usually I read blogs, news sites, and for some bizarre reason I love to read things in medical journals.

3 Name three items you would bring on a desert island.

My family, a set of tools, and hair conditioner!

4 Have you ever solo traveled? If so, tell us about your experience.

I have traveled solo quite a bit but it was always for business purposes.  I have never traveled solo for leisure.

5 Have you ever made friends / hooked-up with a stranger while travelling?

Definitely, I’m very social and if I’m approached by someone I will happily engage in conversation (unless they are a weirdo).  I’ve been told I’m flirtatious but it’s not intentional as I’m just being friendly.

6 What’s your favourite drink?

Anything with ginger!  I’m currently hooked on Moscow Mules!

7 How many languages can you speak?

I can only say I am fluent in English.  I can communicate in Spanish and I read it better than I can speak it.  I did have a conversation with someone in Columbia today in Spanish on Twitter!  So, I’ll give myself 1 1/3 languages!  LOL

My Nominees:

Zovesta at Glamour Vortex (my beautiful red head friend who was one of first followers)

Steph Royalty (the most adorable girlie in NYC)

Reflections by Mirela (A glowing beauty and MUA who influenced me to hit the MAC counter this weekend)

The Life of Kristyn (A blog I came across recently that I really enjoy. And Kristyn incudes lots of photos and is a great blogging role model for us newbies!)

Here are my questions: (Ummm, my cat just stole the straw right from my glass, so rude)

1.   How do you keep up on all the blogs you follow?  Do you use a reader? How do you stay organized?

2.   What is your favorite dessert?

3.   What is a beauty item you are dying to buy but haven’t yet because it’s an expensive one?

4.   Who was your favorite teacher or all time and why?

5.  If you could witness an event from the past, what would it be?

6.  What would you like to learn how to do?

7.  What is your biggest pet peeve?

Lots of Love,

Janine -XO ~Abeautifulwhim

  1. Omg, I never replied to this. Ach!

“3 Name three items you would bring on a desert island.

My family, a set of tools, and hair conditioner!”
I lol’d at this, because I’m just imagining you trying to pack your family in your suitcase, along with the tools and hair conditioner.

I get that, most people I know think that I’m a flirt, and I totally am… but I can’t help it! Even when I’m not flirting, I am! I just want to talk and meet everyone. =( That’s so cool that you had a conversation in Spanish on Twitter, congrats dude. And congrats on being nominated!

    1. LOL. I feel like I’m lost in the world without good hair conditioner. And I can tell if anyone uses mine in the shower too. And they get in a lot of trouble. There are some things I don’t share!

      1. I getcha, I getcha… I splurged for the first time in my life on hair products, with the Smooth Sexy Hair conditioner, and naturally my sister, mom, and aunt started using it! Damn it!!

        1. Have you tried Moroccan Oil? I love that stuff. I also love Kerastase but 41.00 for shampoo is just insane to me. So I get it sometimes… I love Moroccan Oil though. Right now, I’m trying something new I bought called Zenagen. Smells AWFUL but supposedly can help your grow faster. Will it? Hmmmm, we’ll see.

          1. Never have, but I’ve seen it! Maybe I’ll give it a try… $25 for shampoo is still pretty crazy, really. #thatmiserlife I hope it works out for you! Your hair is already so long and pretty though, lol.

            1. At Beauty Brands they have coupons. Just go for the conditioner and not the shampoo. That’s where you’ll feel a difference. The stuff I’m using stinks to high hell, OMG. I just want the hair to grow and it won’t grow longer than it is. Mike will pretty much support whatever I want to do, but extensions is an EMPHATIC NO!! =(

              1. Oh no, how come he’s so anti-extensions? Also dude, I’m so used to stinky shampoo at this point, I have to use dandruff shampoo frequently. X(

    1. Totally loved reading it. I read it earlier this evening and I was trying to post a reply from the reader on my phone but you know, the mobile WP program randomly doesn’t let me. I haven’t figured that one out yet.

  2. Congrats on the award love! I love your answers- 1 and 1/3 languages haha too cute. And it’s funny- I hated ginger when I was supposed to have it (battling morning sickness) but when I don’t need it I love it! I’ve got ginger body oils, scented candle, been adding it to my shakes! I’ve never had a moscow mule but once this little peanut pops out that’s on my list of things to do! haha
    Great post! 🙂 xx

    1. The more ginger the better. OMG it’s so good. I bought some Peach vodka last week and I’m thinking ginger infused simple syrup and …. and ……. and….. what can top of that delicious beverage? When is your baby due? Oh so exciting.
