Makeup Review: Milani Baked Blush

Milani baked blush

Milani baked blush comes in nine shades and  I am so in love in with this collection, I own five of them (plus a bronzer)!  I used to think there were no good cosmetics in the drugstore or at least nothing that could compare to the luxury lines.  I will admit I was completely wrong about that.  There are quite a few good drugstore finds and this probably one of the best beauty products in the drug store.

Makeup Review: The Milani Baked Blush Collection

This blush collection is absolutely gorgeous.  All the shades are subtle and very wearable.   There are two matte shades in the collection that are brighter colors and would be really pretty on darker skin.  All the shades are sheer but very buildable and I think would work well for most skin tones.  You don’t experience a lot of fall out or a powdery mess when you load up your brush and it’s very easy to get a soft and even application on your skin.  Don’t let the color in the package scare you, it won’t go on your skin that bright, I promise!  The packaging is cute and there is a small mirror inside but I wish they would do away with the brush.  No one ever uses the brush that comes in compacts and I’d rather get more product or a better price point instead of the brush.   The products are highly pigmented and will wear all day, especially if you use something to set your makeup.  I haven’t found the need to reapply Milani blush when I’m at work so I can attest to the fact that the blush will wear at least 8-9 hours.

This blush has a very silky texture and depending on the shade is marbled with flecks of silver or gold.  In the swatches I show you, I packed a lot of color on so you could see the shade.  It will appear more glittery in the swatches than it would if you were applying it as blush on your skin.   There is some shimmer when you wear it but it it provides a desirable luminescence on the skin.  Especially Luminoso, which may be one of the most popular shades because it’s touted as a close dupe for Nars Orgasm.  Actually, I have the Nars blush, and I prefer (yes, for real!) the Luminoso because it has less shimmer and leaves my skin with more of a natural glow.  I would also challenge whether Luminoso or Dolce Pink is a closer match to the Nars cult favorite.  In my opinion, Dolce Pink is a closer match.  I also have the Milani baked bronzer 04 and I use it as blush, eye shadow and bronzer.  The bronze not an exact dupe of MAC Gingerly but it’s comparable and an option if you want more product for less money with a similar color tone.

Milani Baked Bronzer

Once I found the Milani blush, I just began collecting all the colors because I felt they met my every need.  I still purchase other products from luxury lines but I will only purchase a blush from those lines if the color is something I can’t get close to with Milani.  I will mix the Milani blushes as well to create more color ranges.  Milani is a very popular drug store brand so it’s hard to find a good selection in one place.  Buy them when you see them!  The Milani website has a locater so you can find who carries the product in your area.  Here is a link to the locater.   The blush usually retails for around $8 but there are frequent specials where you can purchase the second one at half off.  I can’t say enough about how great this blush is.  I use it almost everyday and the next ones on my list of must haves in the line are Bellissimo Bronze and Delizioso Pink.  Let me know what you think of these fantastic products if you already have them or are just giving them a try for the first time.  I have been so impressed and I’m excited to start trying other things within this line, including their matte lipsticks and eye shadows.  I hope you found this helpful and enjoy this terrific find!

  1. Love your swatches and I just ordered Luminoso & Dolce Pink 🙂 they look perfect! What brushes do you like to use with them?

    1. You are going to love them. Those are my two absolute favorites! I use the MAC blush brush with them. Mine is so old the numbers have rubbed off but it is 128 or 129, I think. Sigma makes really nice affordable brushes too.

    1. Isn’t it pretty!?? I even use it with other blush just to add a bit of glow. I’m addicted to it. It’s touted as a dupe for NARS orgasm, which I have, but I like Luminoso better and it’s softer. Milani nailed it with that shade!
