I’ve never read novels but I love reading magazines! I’ve always preferred magazines because I enjoy the variety of the content. Every month, I find the greatest inspiration for makeup, hair styles, fashion, decorating, and more reading InStyle magazine. I observe every detail from how a dog may be groomed in an advertisement to the bracelets, hair styles, and makeup that models are wearing in editorials. I’ve even found myself studying the professional lighting used in photographs and I go as far as keeping files on different topics so I can quickly draw ideas from my favorite inspiration when I need it in the future. See why I love magazines? I can’t get that in a novel!
One of my favorite things about InStyle magazine is how diversified their content and the people they feature are. They do an amazing job showcasing the beauty of people from different cultures and nationalities. I also see products and advertisements that cater to all budgets and they cover the latest trends with celebrities, fashion, beauty, culture, and more. I love reading in the evenings after work snuggled up in bed. It’s what I do to unwind and enjoy “me time”. With each issue, I look for things to enjoy and reward myself with. It can be as simple as a new shade of eye shadow or an extravagant luxury item. And sometimes it’s not a material item but rather a new way to think about a certain topic.
I wanted to share some inspiration with you that I got from the Instyle Spring Fashion issue. While there are tons of fashion ideas I have for spring, there was an article in the issue about Emily Ratajowski. If you aren’t familiar with her, she’s the ravishing brunette beauty that we saw in Robin Thicke’s Blurred Lines music video. She’s a model and actress with a mega popular Instagram account (@emrata). I loved reading the interview with her. I don’t want to spoil it but she made some very interesting points about sexuality, social media, and having the courage to make personal choices. I’ve always made my own choices and the article reinforced reasons to continue to find the courage to do that.
I found even more inspiration in the Spring Fashion issue when I came across an article called Rosetta’s Throne. I felt like this article was written just for me. There were some photographs of a home and I was immediately drawn to the décor. Like I was saying…INSPIRATION IS EVERYWHERE! One of things I love to do when I have some me time is focus on home décor. I immediately thought of my family room where I have a deep brick red wall and tumbled travertine stone set around my fireplace. My room has similar colors and textures but I got the idea to incorporate lanterns from the magazine. So, I visited a local import store and picked out some lanterns and I love the new decorating touches in my family room!
Nothing says relax like some new accent pieces. I’m so curious what inspiration you have found in this issue! I’ll stop now so I don’t spoil all the surprises for you!
Have you picked up the latest issue of InStyle magazine? You can find the issue now in Kroger stores in the magazine aisle or near the register. I picked mine up in line at the register in my local Fry’s grocery store. I know you will enjoy this gorgeous issue. Hopefully you can find new ways to enjoy your me time, whether it is with new décor, like I did, or with a fresh new outfit or hairstyle! I’ve included some coupons below for you! ENJOY! #adv
