I’ve partnered with Serica to bring you this post. The opinions and results I share are 100% my own.
It’s still winter but now is the time to start getting ready for spring dresses, swim suits, and shorts. The one thing that holds many of us back is the appearance of stretch marks. This is certainly true for me! The more pregnancies I had, the more stretch marks I got! I’m always on the hunt for new products and procedures that come to market that claim to minimize the appearance of stretch marks. Last spring, a new product, Serica Moisturizing Stretch Mark Formula, hit the shelves at Walgreen’s and I decided to try it this year. Serica contains ingredients that haven’t been available commercially until now, so this stuff really caught my interest!
Serica is formulated to improve the appearance of stretch marks but it also targets scars and they have another formula specifically made for scars. Well, I have plenty of places to test this product out! Serica sent me a bottle (which you can get at Walgreens) and I’m really eager to see what type of results I get. Positive changes in the skin can be seen as early as 1 week but maximum results are achieved in 12 weeks (just in time for my spring wardrobe)! I haven’t been using the product for 12 weeks yet but I will share my initial thoughts which are positive. I’m using Serica on stretch marks and new scars I have under my arms from a surgery a couple years ago. First, I want to tell you a little more about the product and why I decided to try it.
There are two formulas from Serica. One formula is an oil that targets the appearance of scars and the other is a cream that targets the appearance of stretch marks. I’m using the one for stretch marks but I believe it will also improve the look of scars so I’m testing it on both. Doctor’s have always advised me to use medical grade silicone to treat scars and stretch marks. Usually, the products are really expensive so I don’t use them long term, if at all. Serica’s products use a patented topical silicone gel that is specifically formulated to improve the appearance of scars and stretch marks. It is a proprietary blend of silicone, sodium hyaluronate, and essential fatty acids. This new formula contains Amazonian Pracaxi oil. This is the ingredient that I was talking about that hasn’t been made available in commercial formulas until now.
One of the reasons I’m very excited to share this product with you is because the I found a study conducted in 2014 about the effectiveness of Pracaxi oil on scars and wounds. The results were promising! In the cases they evaluated, nearly all patients that were examined were considered “much improved” from the baseline. When I can locate real, unbiased scientific evidence and studies that were published talking about ingredients in a product, I’m very eager to try it out. Especially, in the case of Serica, where the product is affordable and easy for me to get. Since Serica is the first commercially available skin care line with Pracaxi oil, it’s unlike anything I’ve used in the past!
So far, in using the Serica formula, I’ve found it’s not sticky at all. This has been a problem for me with other skin care products. Serica dries quickly and has a silky feel on the skin. There’s a mild nutty fragrance but once it’s dry, I can’t detect it any more but it wouldn’t bother me if I could. The cream doesn’t stain my sheets or clothing and a big plus is there aren’t any silicone sheets to wash or care for. I don’t know if you’ve ever tried those but they are a serious nightmare! I’ve failed so many times in the past with expensive silicone sheets. I’m loving how clean and easy the Serica product is to use. It’s recommended to be applied to the affected three times a day. Since Serica dries quickly and doesn’t feel tacky, it’s not a problem to apply in the morning or midday. I keep the bottle in my purse and apply it during lunch and within seconds it’s dry. I’m very excited to see the results in 12 weeks!
If you are looking to try something new for scars or stretch marks, this is definitely a product worth trying! It’s affordable and you can get it at Walgreens or order it from Walgreens on line.

I’ll keep you posted on my results but so far I can tell you it’s easy to use, clean, and feels great on my skin. Have you heard of this yet or tried yet? I’m so curious to hear about your results or if you plan to pick this product up!
