Galderma Rosacea treatments

Galderma Laboratories, L.P. is sponsoring an incredible contest for a chance to win a spa getaway to sunny Los Angeles, California.  This contest and the “Break Up With Your Makeup” campaign from Galderma aims to educate and encourage women with rosacea and other skin troubles to feel confident in their own skin.  This is an important campaign because there can be some serious emotional consequences resulting from rosacea.  In a survey of over 500 people conducted by the National Rosacea Society, 42% experienced feelings of sadness or depression resulting from the appearance of their skin.  Some of Galderma’s prescription products treat rosacea and can help reduce the rosacea symptoms.  If you haven’t talked to your doctor about treatments, definitely do so, because they are out there for you!

Do I feel confident in my own skin?  No, not always and having learned about Galderma, I’m planning to speak with my doctor about it.  Until this campaign, I didn’t know there was a treatment that I could benefit from.  Without much warning, my skin will turn red because I suffer from rosacea.  I was eager to be a part of this campaign and share my personal experience.  If you have skin problems, you aren’t alone and there’s information and medication out there to help improve your skin condition.

My rosacea is triggered by environmental factors but I don’t always know when it’s going to hit.  When my rosacea is not aggravated, my skin is clear and I like the way it looks. But later on the very same day that started out great, I could experience extreme burning and redness.  Therefore, I always wear full coverage makeup in hopes I can hide the redness if rosacea flares up.  I try to avoid my known triggers (spicy food, alcohol, and hot showers) but I still experience episodes and at any moment, rosacea can strike.  When it does, my nose, chin, and cheeks will turn bright red, shiny, and hot to the touch.  When I say bright red, I mean an intense shade of red!  It’s as if my makeup just burns off and it feels that way too.  I carry a bottle of full coverage makeup and multiple concealers with me at all times.

The worst trigger for me is stress and that’s not something I can always avoid.  It usually comes on at work when there are lots of people around.  I have to grab my makeup bag and make a mad dash to a low traffic restroom.  Sometimes the redness is so bad I can’t cover it up and the intense heat is a constant reminder that it’s there.  I’m relieved to learn there is something available to help me.  I don’t know why I never inquired about it before.  I guess I just thought it was something I had to live with but now, I realize I don’t.  Thanks to this campaign, I’m more aware and I hope there is a positive message for you as well or someone you know.  So, let’s talk about how to join the campaign and enter the Galderma contest to win an incredible spa getaway!

If I didn’t spend over an hour every day putting on makeup, my days would start off very different.  I would spend part of my morning relaxing on my patio and enjoying my morning coffee.  I would also make breakfast for my children and pack lunches for them to take to school. Today, they buy their lunch because I have no time to make anything and it costs me over $300 per month!  Instead of my current morning rush, grabbing a frozen breakfast sandwich, and sending my kids off to eat cafeteria pizza each day, I’d make healthy meals at home.  This change would be emotionally and physically healthier for all of us!
