I have partnered with Chesapeake Bay Candle and She Savvy to bring you this post. Thank you to Chesapeake Bay Candle for sharing their beautiful products with me. #chesapeakebaycandle
Wintertime and the holidays are such a beautiful time of the year. If you have children, cherish the moments you get to play Santa and make cookies together. Take joy in viewing all the gorgeous decorations and sparkling lights. There is glitter, sparkle, and love everywhere. But at the same time, sometimes I feel intense pressure to get everything done and a sense of disappointment as the beauty of the season comes and goes so quickly. Unfortunately, I can’t create more time in the day or make the holiday season last longer but I can create relaxing moments and a healthy state of mind with the Chesapeake Bay Candle Mind & Body Collection.
Chesapeake Bay Candle has stunning collections that fit people’s unique lifestyles. The candles are soy blends and contain all natural essential oils sourced from around the world. This past fall, I decorated my home with the warm and welcoming scents of The Heritage collection. Have a look at how I incorporated them into my home. I received many compliments from friends and family on the beautiful design of the candles and the fragrances. Having fallen love in love with the Heritage Collection, I was eager to fill my home with more candles from Chesapeake Bay. I wanted to create spa-inspired bathrooms to promote a sense of well-being and relaxation. I want a place I can go to escape. Not only to relieve the pressure of busy days but also to reflect upon life in general. Sometimes, I forget how fortunate I am to be surrounded by people who love me. We need to enable ourselves to reflect upon life and cherish special moments.
I’m excited to share the changes I’ve made and how Chesapeake Bay Candles have transformed my bathrooms. I made changes for the entire family as it’s important to me that everyone has a place to unwind and reflect. Would you like to come back inside our home and see how I’ve created new spaces for my teenage boys as well as my husband and myself? You’re still here so I think that means yes! Well, I’d love to share with you and I hope you are inspired to make small changes that can yield big results. Let’s head upstairs and start with the boys room!
Welcome to the teen boys bathroom
This is not what it looked like before. It was a room in the house to avoid whenever possible! With a few changes, the space is more sophisticated and inviting. A mom gets tired of picking up towels and dirty clothes off the floor every day! Teen boys take pride in the fact they are becoming men. The boys consider this new space a sign of their maturity and growth. Now that they respect the space, they take better care of it. Success!
I wanted to create a more mature space and introduce sophisticated accessories for my teenagers. Boys tend to like decor with high contrast, bold colors, and natural woods. I ditched the cheap canned shaving cream and introduced a shaving brush and shaving soap with a glossy black bowl. I also cleared off the countertops and organized daily essentials in a basket to encourage regular use. For a special touch, I added a punch of color using bright bougainvillea clipped from the garden. I know Architectural Digest is not my boys magazine but I left it there as a subtle reminder (OK! It’s a bold reminder) that this is a sophisticated space created just for them. Sometimes a little hint here and there is not a bad thing!

Reflection + Clarity medium jar candle (front and center)! This is an ideal accessory to create a true spa experience. The shade of blue couldn’t be more relaxing! The candle’s fragrance is Sea Salt Sage and it contains natural essential oils including orange, chamomile, lavender, laurel, patchouli, and tea.
Balance + Harmony Reed Diffuser. Diffusers are incredible sources of fragrance for the home! This diffuser has notes of tropical fruits, ripe peaches, and delicious pears combined with soft florals and creamy coconut. You can close your eyes and let your mind take you to a lush green tropical place.
What’s happening in the master bath?
There’s another bathroom in my house that really important and that’s mine! My master bath is open to the master suite and an important space in our home. At the end of the day, I need a place to unwind that I want to spend time in. I want it to be special for my husband too. If it’s early in the morning, the space needs to be inviting because it’s not easy to get out of a warm, cozy bed!
Never be afraid of using the color to incorporate what you love into your decor! It’s your space and there are no rules anyone should have to follow whether you are putting on makeup or decorating a living room. If you feel good about the space, you did it right!
During the holidays, I love using plums and dark greenery. That’s just what I did to create the corner next to the bathtub. If you want to find shades that work well together, take a look at a color wheel. You will likely be attracted to colors that are opposite or adjacent to each other on the wheel. For the bathtub corner, I introduced towels in dark and light plum shades (adjacent on the wheel). A small amount of greenery can change the way a space feels so I’ve simply added a bit of pine. During spring, I may opt for tulips. To keep flowers and greens from wilting, stick the ends of the stems in single water tubes.
Using the “odd rule” works well when creating clusters of accessories. Instead of setting out two or four items, try three or five. Certainly do whatever comes natural to you but if you place three items together as opposed to two, you may find the arrangement is more visually interesting.
With his and her and vanity areas in the master bath, I found it looked better to declutter and stow things away. I’ve put away products, bottles, and accessories that clash and compete with each other. I find his and her products spewed about the counter top creates a divide and sense of disorganization. Put it all away and the space will be crisp and balanced.

Peace + Tranquility large jar candle. This candle is wonderful because it’s a soft frosted white and you can incorporate it anywhere! The fragrance is Cashmere Jasmine and it has essential oils of Ylang Ylang, lemon, and cedar wood. The fresh, clean floral notes of lily, bergamot, and jasmine combine beautifully with cotton blossom, fresh roses, and white musk. This candle invokes the perfect mood to clear your mind and settle down after a hectic day!
Joy + Laughter large jar candle. Considering I love pink, this was a must on my vanity! The candle’s fragrance is Cranberry Dahlia with natural essential oils including orange peel, lemon, and cedar wood. While the scent is fruity with notes of plum and cranberry, there is a nice balance of spice and earthy tones from pink peppercorn, cedar wood, and mahogany. This candle is 100% beautiful!
The Mind & Body Collection from Chesapeake Bay Candle has been a lovely addition to my home! Reed diffusers are one of my favorite accessories and they are highly effective at providing a constant fragrance that is not overwhelming. When spring arrives, I have my eye on the Strength + Energy candle in the Mind & Body Collection. As I was looking at the additional fragrances, they had me at verbena!
