Sensitive teeth may affect many people, even young adults.  Tooth sensitivity can happen when the softer, inner part of the tooth called the ‘dentin’ becomes exposed.  Once it is exposed, external triggers (such as cold drinks or ice cream) can stimulate the nerves inside the tooth and this results in the sharp pain associated with sensitive teeth.  It is a feeling that reminds me of an electrical zap and it’s very uncomfortable!

Sensodyne True White

According to a survey by the makers of Sensodyne® True White®, 1/3 of women who experience sensitivity say they will do whatever it takes to have whiter teeth.  I can relate to that. I would strongly agree with that statement if I was asked.  I’ve used many different whitening products over the years.  Often, my teeth feel more sensitive after whitening so I stop.  Desperate for whiter teeth, I also tried a procedure in the dental office promising to whiten teeth in one hour.  That was a horrible experience for me.  Not only was it extremely uncomfortable due to my mouth being packed with products and dry cotton but the light used to perform the teeth whitening was hot and I felt like I was being burned.  What’s even worse, for 2 days afterwards, I felt horrible sensitivity and zaps that would bring me to my knees.  It was a very upsetting experience that I’ll never try again.

For women like me that have had sensitive teeth for many years but demand a bright smile, this is definitely a product I welcome to the shelves!  At the recommendation of my dentist, I have used Sensodyne® toothpaste which has offered me reliable soothing relief from ongoing sensitivity.  I brush my teeth twice daily to care for them properly.  After using Sensodyne® True White® for 2 weeks, I’ve found it to be as relieving as the other formula I used and I’m excited that it also helps whiten teeth.  I tried the mint flavor and it’s very refreshing!  I definitely like the taste.  I have now switched to Sensodyne® True White® so I can promote healthy teeth and continue to get sensitivity relief.

  1. Great review, I totally want to try this. I used to resort to crest white strips and ugh I hate them with a passion they made my teeth so sensitive!! This sounds much easier, more effective and, overall great…. I can’t turn down a product thats for sensitive teeth! I’m glad to have read your post!

    1. I have used the Crest white strips too and those also leave my teeth a bit sensitive and there’s a white spot that always shows up on one of my teeth when I use them. I don’t know what it is or why it happens. Nothing will ever compare to the Zoom whitening. That was the most devastating thing EVER! But you know what I love about this product – the flavor of this is fantastic. I like it even better than the original Sensodyne. They did a nice job with this new product. Both my husband and I use it every day and we are really happy with it! If you try it, let me know what you think! I’d love to hear!!

    1. I really like having white teeth but when I had the Zoom whitening done, I thought I was going to die. I really like the way this toothpaste tastes and it keeps my teeth looking white. But OMG, never again will I do the whitening at the dentist. WOW.

  2. Waaw,.. This product seems to be interesting,.. Even I suffer from teeth sensitivity. I will check this,.. Thank you

    1. Definitely check it out. It really REALLY helps with the sensitivity. I was using their original formula every day. Now, I switched to the whitening formula and it keeps my teeth from being sensitive and has helped to whiten them. So, I am really happy with it.
